State Sen. David Haley ( Kansas City, Kan. Democrat) said he’ll keep pushing his idea to charge tolls based on the speed at which drivers fly down the Kansas Turnpike. If you drive the speedlimit, you’d pay the standard fare. If you speed, you’d pay more. How would the Turnpike know? Your time would start when you picked up a farecard at the tollway entrance; when you exit you’d pay based on how long it took you to do the trip.
So go ahead and speed, just take a break at the fast food place in between. Isn;t it already illegal to speed? Can’t a state trooper ticket someone for speeding? Haley, of course, is a Democrat, and they have become so greedy lately. Go figure.
